EA Café 19: Enterprise Architecture in the Era of Consumerization plus Cloud.

Dear EA professional,

If you have been an Enterprise Architect for some time, no doubt the name of Chris Potts will ring a bell. Chris is a corporate strategist, specialising in Enterprise Investment.

In 1994 he established the first formal Enterprise Architecture (EA) capability in the company he worked for.  This kick-started Chris’s interest in corporate strategies, including the differences and independencies between strategy, architecture and investments, and how enterprises create value by investing in invest in change and IT.

Nowadays he is an independent practitioner and mentor. At our Architect Café he will present the following topic: “Enterprise Architecture in the Era of Consumerization plus Cloud.”

The combination of consumerization and cloud has changed the game for enterprises the world over.  The architectural challenge is to achieve a radically different balance between outside-in and inside-out design.  For Enterprise Architects themselves, the opportunity is about influencing and leading senior decision-makers in assessing the potential scenarios for their strategies and business models, choosing the best architectural innovations to invest in, and making the very most of those investments.
