EA Café 18: The Business Model Canvas

Dear EA professional,

The Business Model Canvas, even if you didn’t use it in your company yet, you are probably familiar with the term. In the first Architect Café of 2013 we will offer you two interesting cases.

Steven Laurent (AE) will start with an interactive session where the concept of Business Model Canvas will be put into practice. Peter Doomen rounds off the first session with his experiences at SD Worx.

When everyone is brought up to speed with the Business Model Canvas, Jo Wyns (Crossroad) will dive into the tool set of the architect: “The forgotten tools of the Enterprise Architect: concise models, crystal balls, and the coffee machine”.

The talk illustrates a number of essential tools and practices that underpin the successful embedding of Enterprise Architecture in many companies, but which are often forgotten or overlooked in traditional architecture studies.

As a reference,  Jo uses the Architecture Roadmap Model Crossroad developed over multiple projects in the banking industry. It gives an overview of the broad role of the Enterprise Architect within a company, the expectation put upon him/her and the challenges to attain long-term benefits for the company.

To fill-in these expectations,  architects employ a diverse set of practices and tools to make the difference between architectural studies, and real-life architecture value.  Illustrated by practical examples, Jo highlights a number of the implicit architectural approaches he discovered over the past years.

Capgemini will be the host of this Architect Café.

The Architect Café will be held in the Capgemini offices in Diegem on 26th of March. Doors are open as from 17h30 and the presentations will be held from 18h00 to 20h00 (with networking event after the presentations). If you would like to register, send us an e-mail.

We are always looking for interesting presentations, valuable case studies and possible hosting locations. Should you have any suggestions, please let us know.

Make sure to reserve your seat now!

Kind regards,

The BAEA team
